We strongly advise considering additional health screening tests beyond the fundamental ones for a more in-depth understanding of your overall health. These comprehensive screenings shed light on crucial yet often overlooked factors such as your dietary habits and lifestyle choices and empower you to incorporate sustainable lifestyle changes to feel better and improve your health.
If you are interested in undergoing more comprehensive tests beyond the basic screen for life, our medical team will be happy to discuss more with you to help you gain a clearer understanding of the available options and help you select the most beneficial and suitable tests.
Screen for Life is a national screening initiative established by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) to encourage regular health screenings and follow-ups among Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.
For eligible Singapore Citizens, subsidised screenings for cardiovascular disease, cervical cancer, and colorectal cancer are accessible at $5 or less. This fixed fee covers the screening and the first follow-up consultation, if needed, exclusively at Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) General Practitioner (GP) clinics.
The Lifestyle Medical Clinic is a CHAS clinic part of this initiative.
Healthier SG (HSG)-enrolled Singapore Citizens receive full subsidies for nationally-recommended screenings at their enrolled HSG clinic. Permanent Residents are also eligible for subsidies:
Colorectal cancer - $32
Cardiovascular risk screen - From $12
Cervical cancer screen - From $18
The subsidy for Singaporeans encompasses the screening visit, including the recommended tests conducted during that visit, the doctor's consultation fee, and the initial follow-up consultation fee if deemed necessary. Individuals opting for screening tests on separate visits will incur a distinct fixed fee.
No application is necessary. Eligible Singaporeans will receive an invitation letter from the Health Promotion Board (HPB).
Yes, individuals aged 18 to 39 identified as 'at higher risk' of developing diabetes through the Diabetes Risk Assessment are eligible for the Screen for Life subsidy for cardiovascular risk screening.
Additionally, women aged 25 and above can enjoy the subsidy for cervical cancer screening, with Pap tests recommended for those aged 25 to 29, and HPV tests for those aged 30 and above.
